Dr. Lee Newman Teams up with Mother Nature Festival Live Inc.

Dr. Newman, the Associate Professor and Chair of Chemistry at ESF, teams up with Mother Nature Festival Live Inc. Dr. Newman will assist in the mission to "Stop Global Warming". For more information on Dr. Newman go HERE. We cooperate with the US Department of Agriculture in complying with the Federal Mandate to help turn around climate change. The Agriculture Department has 18 agencies which are at work fulfilling the January 27, 2021 Executive Order Tackling the Climate Crisis at Home and Abroad. To find how you can get help from or work with any of the Department of Agriculture's agencies Click Here.

Another one of our new programs is the "National Biofertilizer Program". This involves tons of composting materials that will be collected by the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Veterans Administration Hospitals, and Colleges across America and others. To participate and learn more of the details, click this link to the informative pdf.

Compost and natural materials from forests and agricultural waste will become tons of biofertilizer. This biofertizer will be provided to farms and farmers throughout America.
In a historic and landmark collaboration, Mother Nature Festival Live Inc. has joined forces with the National Climate Task Force, United States Department of Agriculture, and American Climate Corps. We have united to spearhead the critical mission of halting global warming. Together, we’re catalyzing change for a sustainable future

The USDA Cover Crop program does the following

Leaving cover crops in the field has several significant benefits
Soil Health: Cover crops improve soil structure, increase organic matter, and enhance microbial activity, leading to healthier and more fertile soil.
Erosion Control: They help prevent soil erosion by protecting the soil surface from wind and water erosion. Water Management: Cover crops improve water infiltration and retention, reducing runoff and helping to manage water more efficiently.
Weed Suppression: They can suppress weeds by outcompeting them for resources and providing ground cover that inhibits weed growth.
Nutrient Cycling: Cover crops can capture and recycle nutrients, reducing the need for synthetic fertilizers and improving nutrient availability for subsequent crops.
Our National Bio-Fertilizer Field Initiative will help farmers restore their land and help the USDA Cover Crop Plan be more successful. The cover crops draw down carbon and stores it in the fields where they are planted. Creating bio-fertilizer for use on our farmlands will rejuvenate the soil throughout America and help in restoring the soil. Over 20 million acres of cover crops, and growing, are grown each year in America.

Mother Nature Festival Live Inc. is partnering with United States military veterans' groups to take meaningful action in the fight against climate change. We are making arrangements to distribute and collect composting bins with VFWs, DAV's, American Legions, and other veterans' groups that have organic and non-hazardous waste. To become a partner in this critically important program that helps America's farmers use safer composted fertilizer. Contact Executive Director Richard Faith for more information.
Mother Nature SOS by Kevin Silvers
Kevin Silvers joined the team at Mother Nature Festival Live Inc. His revision of the song Mother Nature became the new theme for the 'Stop Global Warming' message. In this music video Kevin is singing Mother Nature SOS Songwriters, Gary Revel, Cecil Ray Fillingame Jr., and Kevin Silvers. Availabe from iTunes, Spotify, Youtube and other music selling platforms.

July 3, 2023-hottest day ever recorded on Earth, with average global temperature exceeding 17°C (62.6°F)

To stop global warming, we need to heal the soil. Regenerative farming can do that by using natural methods that lower emissions and increase carbon sequestration. Join with us to push for more regenerative farming. By restoring the soil and capturing carbon, regenerative farming can be a powerful ally in the fight against global warming. Regenerative farming not only nourishes the soil, but also cools the planet by reducing emissions and storing carbon. Click the link and read the short explanation to see why it is important. Regenerative farming not only nourishes the soil, but also cools the planet by reducing emissions and storing carbon. Mother Nature Festival Live Inc. pushes for more regenerative farming..

U.S. agricultural lands could potentially sequester up to 250 million metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent (mtCO₂e) annually through conservation practices1. This is roughly 4% of the country’s total emissions.
Specific Practices: Practices like no-till farming, cover cropping, and agroforestry can significantly enhance soil carbon storage. For example, agroforestry alone could sequester around 548.4 teragrams (Tg) of carbon per year. Economic Factors: The economic potential for carbon sequestration is influenced by the price of carbon credits and the costs associated with implementing these practices. At lower carbon prices, practices like changing crop rotations and tillage methods are more feasible.

Composting needs air, water, and a balanced mix of green and brown materials. Here’s why:
Air is to the compost pile is crucial. Oxygen supports the activity of microorganisms that break down organic matter. An uncovered pile receives airflow, which speeds up decomposition.
If you cover the pile tightly, it could lead to a lack of oxygen, resulting in an anaerobic, smelly mess.
Moisture (Water): Compost needs the right moisture level. Too much or too little can affect the process. An open pile allows rainwater to naturally hydrate it. However, if your climate is excessively wet, consider using a hardcover (like a bin lid or plywood) to keep excess rainwater out while maintaining airflow. Covering Options:
Some people use tarps to cover compost piles successfully, but it depends on the pile’s contents and moisture level. If your pile was too wet initially, trapping that moisture under a tarp could lead to problems. Constructing the pile under an overhang (e.g., the side of a house or shed) or adding an overhang to the bin can also help control moisture.

The original Mother Nature music recording written by Gary and his brother Cecil Ray Fillingame Jr. in 1972. The song was recorded by Gary in the mid 1970s in the fabled Acuff-Rose studios in Nashville, Tennessee. The music recording was released as a single record in 1977 on the Frame House Records label. Gary is a pioneer in raising awareness about the dangers of global warming through his music. He co-wrote the song Mother Nature, with his younger brother, in the early 1970s, which was one of the first songs to address the environmental crisis. The words and music were written by Cecil Ray Fillingame Jr. and Gary Revel. 🎵

Sustainability is a key component of stopping Global Warming.

One of the concerns we have is the runoff of nitrates, phosphorus, potassium, sediments, pathogens and pesticides that enter into water systems. To learn more about the differences between the three kinds of agricultural products used for fertilization, Click Here.

The benefit concert held on April 30, 2022 at Curtis Manor Click Here in Oswego, New York went well. The Great American Robber Barons and Frostbit Blue rocked the house. The Great American Robber Barons are led by Diana Mangano (former lead singer with Jefferson Starship) and Keith Dion (former member of The Noel Redding Band of The Jimi Hendrix Experience). Sponsors included GS Steamers, Warner Physical Therapy, Eagle Beverage, Upstate Hearing Solutions, The New York State Council of Arts, Beaudry Charitable Trust, RD Events & Design, Ken's Auto Body, Oswego County Federal Credit Union, Pathfinder Bank, Enright Roofing, The Palladium Times. Eventbrite took care of ticket sales, online.

For upcoming festivals, experts and activists involved with climate change are invited to speak and teach. Political leaders, including President Joe Biden and major stars, including Jane Fonda, Jon Bon Jovi, and Al Gore, have been invited to speak and/or perform.
